All training and assessment for this course is delivered in English. For Certificate III level courses (or lower), to participate effectively, you should have a sound level of English language, reading, writing, and numeracy skills similar to those developed in Australian Year 10. For example, you should be able to:
- Read and understand basic course content, simple workplace documents, and assessment instructions
- Follow written directions and procedures
- Write short responses, complete simple forms and draft basic workplace documents
- Perform basic calculations, such as:
- Calculating patient gap fees
- Adding totals on an invoice
- Tallying appointment durations
Under the Standards for RTOs, we are required to confirm that all students have the foundation language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills needed to successfully complete their course.
We make this process simple and guide you through it as part of your application.
We review how your application form is completed, along with details about your schooling, further education, and work experience to confirm your readiness to study.
This may include:
• Completion of secondary school in Australia (e.g. Year 10, Year 12)
• Completion of a nationally recognised qualification or skill set
• Further education or training completed in English (e.g. university study)
If more information is needed, we may ask you to complete a short online LLN assessment during the application process to make sure the course is the right fit for you.
