All students enrolling in nationally recognised training in Australia are required by law to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Your USI is a government-issued reference number that gives you access to your training records and qualifications online. Under the Student Identifiers Act 2014, we cannot issue your Certificate or Statement of Attainment unless you have a USI.
If you’ve undertaken any nationally recognised training since 2015, you may already have a USI. You can check by visiting: Find USI
If you don’t have one yet, you can apply easily online at: Get USI
It’s free, takes only a few minutes, and can be completed on your phone or computer.
If you’re unable to apply yourself, you can authorise us to create one for you (you’ll need to supply valid ID documents) at the time of application.
Note: Very limited exemptions may apply, as outlined in the Student Identifiers (VET Exemptions) Instrument 2021. These are assessed by the USI Registrar and are not determined by MAT.
