What are the advantages of doing a qualification?

A qualification can help students transition into a variety of fields by:

  • An entry pathway into university

How can students use their qualifications to get into university?

Most universities recognise the skills and knowledge gained through Vocational Education and Training (VET) as a highly effective pathway to university. Admission pathway options can help students improve their selection rank, upgrade to their preferred undergraduate degree or satisfy subject prerequisites. If students are not planning on completing Year 12, universities may have access schemes that can help them gain admission. A completed AQF Diploma undertaken while at school meets the English subject pre-requisite for admission and will allow students to apply for a number of undergraduate degrees with various universities. As a current school student, it’s a good idea to explore the range of admission pathways available and have a back-up plan in case they don’t receive the results required to gain entry to their preferred course.

How can students sign up?

We encourage students to firstly talk to their guidance officer, career counsellor, vocational education coordinator or head of senior schooling about what might be a suitable qualification to pursue. All of our school courses and funding web pages contain links to application and enrolment forms.

Are payment plans available?

Most of our courses offered under this program will be completed funded by the Queensland government to eligible students. However we offer 12 month parent payment plans with weekly or fortnightly repayment options for any courses being paid for as Fee for Service over $550.
