A diploma is similar to a certificate IV in that it focuses on technical skills in a broad context. However, it usually gives you a more thorough, deeper understanding of a subject. Diplomas are at level 5 of the AQF. This means they’re a step above certificates. The main differences are that diplomas can lead to more complex, skilled work, rather than more routine work.

When you have successfully completed a Diploma, you are issued with a nationally recognised Diploma and an academic transcript. An academic transcript is an official legal record that lists all the subjects you have completed in your course.
